Professional Engineer - Examinations

Note: The Engineering Section no longer pre-qualifies examination candidates.  You must schedule first with NCEES. Registration and application deadline dates may vary between NCEES and DSPS. Please visit both sites to view dates.

NCEES is responsible for all administrative aspects of the examination process, including any refund/cancelation inquiries. Please contact NCEES for further information.  Information on the examination content and registration is available on the NCEES web site.

Principles and Practice (PE) Examination

To take the principles and practice of engineering examination, you must satisfy the following requirements:

 

A.) Register online with NCEES by visiting their web site at www.ncees.org.

 

RE-EXAM: Applicants do not need to re-apply with the Board. You must register online with NCEES by the deadline date to be scheduled for the examination.

 

After you have passed your examinations, you may submit the Application for Professional Engineer Registration (Form #1736) to the Department for Engineer Section review. Please see the following link for licensure application information: www.dsps.wi.gov/licenses-permits/engineer/peforms.
