Bureau of Petroleum Products & Tanks - Special Program Notice and Information

The Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services has been involved in an extensive rebuilding of its regulated objects computer system and storage tank database. Permit renewals were suspend in September 1997 and in the interim regulatory compliance was randomly monitored through on-site inspections. The department implemented the new annual permit renewal process in November 2001 with anticipation that all tank owners will receive a renewal application by the end of October 2002. Owners will receive a notification approximately 90 days prior to the expiration date along with an application and information required for the permit renewal. All tanks owned by one company or individual have the same renewal date.
