How to Make Code Change Proposals to S&B At any time you wish to make proposals for future changes to codes administered by the Safety and Buildings Division, you may do so by sending your comments to Norma McReynolds, S&B Code Developer. You may use the code change proposal form: PDF form, Word form. Save it to your computer system, and fill it out. Send a copy of the filled-out form by fax, email, or postal mail to Norma McReynolds, S&B Code Developer, 608-267-7907. If you wish her to acknowledge receipt of your proposal, make that request and provide contact information. You will not receive any reaction comments from S&B staff about your proposal. When a formal code development project proceeds, which may not occur for several years, your proposal will be considered by S&B staff and may be presented to the respective code advisory council. If your proposal is accepted by the Department of Safety and Professional Services, it will be included in the public hearing draft of proposed code changes. Access to code development project information is available on the S&B WebSite. When new projects begin, an email list will be set up for interested parties who wish to subscribe to receive email notices of advisory council meetings. If public hearings are held and formal comments solicited, a hearing announcement will include notice of how to submit those formal comments. The opportunity to make code change proposals as described above is NOT part of any formal public hearing comment process. Public hearings will be announced on the WebSite, and via the interested-party email list noted above. S&B postal mailing address for proposals: Norma Mcreynolds, Safety and Buildings Division, PO Box 2689, Madison, WI 53701.
