S&B Fire Dept. Safety and Health Program

The Safety and Buildings Division helps develop and enforces safety and health standards for public sector fire department employees, based on SPS 330, the Fire Department Safety and Health Code, and SPS 332, the Public Employee Safety and Health Code. (An adjunct to SPS 332, SPS 330 contains minimum requirements for an occupational safety and health program for public sector fire department employees involved in fire department operations.) Consultation and inspections are provided by S&B staff on requirements for fire department occupational safety and health programs.

NEWS

- A Statement of Scope, PDF file, has been issued for a possible code development project updating SPS 330, Fire Department Safety and Health, and Comm 32, Public Employee Safety and Health. The statement is expected to be published in the Wisconsin Administrative Register at the end of February, 2011.
