S&B HVAC / Energy Program

The Safety and Buildings Division sets standards for energy efficiency and heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems. See Commercial Building and One- and Two- Family Dwelling programs for enforcement, education and consultation details for those building types.

The Rental Weatherization Energy Efficiency is a separate program. The division also maintains standards for energy efficiency of existing rental units. Certificates of compliance are issued by state-certified private inspectors.

NEWS

- There will be a public hearing on repealing credentialing rules related to thermal insulators on Monday, February 13, 2012, at 10 a.m. at 1400 East Washington Ave. in Madison, Wisconsin. See code development project documents.

- Coleman, Coleman Evcon, and Red T gas furnaces for manufactured homes are again recalled by York International, February 3, 2011, (CPSC)
