S&B Soil Erosion, Sediment Control, and Stormwater Program

The Safety and Buildings Division provides education and consultation concerning soil erosion control for construction sites involving one- and two-family dwellings. Complaints are investigated relative to violations and failure to control measures. Credentials are administered for erosion control inspectors.

NEWS

The 2011-12 state budget trasferred the responsibility for construction site soil erosion enforcement of SPS 366 back to the Safety and Buildings Division of the Department of Safety and Professional Services.  The program had been transferred from S&B to the Department of Natural Resources in 201O. S&B and the DNR are working on an agreement for the transfer.
