Examination Requirements:

• National Dental Examination
• Examination of a Dental Testing Service Approved by the Board

Effective January 1, 2009

The Board accepts the following examinations for dentists: CRDTS, WREB, CDCA, SRTA, ADEX, and CITA. Parts I and III of ADEX are not required for WREB examinees for examinations taken on or after January 1, 2009.

Prior to January 1, 2009 the Board Accepted the Following Regional Examinations:

• The Commission on Dental Competency Assessments (CDCA)
• Effective September 28, 2005: The Board started to accept the (NERB/CDCA) examination for Wisconsin licensure in Dentistry
• Acceptance is retroactive for 5 years from September 28, 2005
• Western Regional Examining Board (WREB)
• Effective January 1, 2001: The Board started to accept the WREB examination
• Prior to December 1, 2005: WREB applicants were not required to pass ADEX Parts I and III
• Effective December 1, 2005 through December 31, 2008: Applicants completing the WREB exam must also successfully complete the ADEX exam Part I in diagnostic and treatment planning and Part III of the mannequin examination in fixed prosthodontics
• Effective July 11, 2012: Applicants completing the WREB exam between December 1, 2005 through December 31, 2008 are no longer required to complete the ADEX exam Part I in diagnostic and treatment planning and Part III of the mannequin examination in fixed prosthodontics
• Central Regional Dental Testing Score (CRDTS)
• The CRDTS exam is approved fro licensure regardless of the year the exam was completed
• State Ethics Examination
• A state board examination administered by another state that is approved by the Board
• Open-book Examination on the Wisconsin Statutes and Administrative Code

The passing score for Dental is 85%. You will receive your exam name, password, and applicant ID which you will use as your student ID to take this test after you submit your application.

Content

The exam content is drawn from applicable state statutes and administrative code chapters specific to the profession. The purpose of the exam is to familiarize yourself with locating the statutes and administrative code that regulate the practice of the profession. The state exam consists of material taken from the following statutes and code chapters:

2. Select "Test Launching."
3. Your instructor is "gsp."
4. If you are unable to access the exam, try again later or refresh your web browser.
5. The exam is not timed. You may exit and return to the test at any time over the next 3 months. Exit by clicking the "X" at the top right-hand corner of any screen.
6. Do not click "Done" until you are ready to submit the exam. If you accidentally click done before you are ready to submit your exam, just go back in and start again. Your first score will be deleted.
7. Print out a copy of your score report and retain it for your own records. ​
