The Professional Counselor Section of the Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Counseling and Social Work Examining Board is created in
Wis. Stat. § 15.405(7c) and has authority as outlined in
Wis. Stat. ch. 457.
The members of the Professional Counselor Section are appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Legislature to serve 4-year terms. The Section consists of 3 Professional Counselor members, and 1 public member.

Announcements
At the October 23, 2017 meeting the Section issued the following statement:
'An application received on or after September 1, 2018 will be required to meet the new educational requirements in MPSW 14.01 which goes into effect on September 1, 2018.'
