Nursing, Board of

​ ​​​The Board of Nursing is created in Wis. Stat. § 15.405(7g) and has authority as outlined in Wis. Stat. ch. 441.

​Members

The members of the Board of Nursing are appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Legislature to serve 4-year terms. The Board consists of 5 Registered Nurse members, 2 Licensed Practical Nurse members and 2 public members.

Effective October 13, 2018 the Board of Nursing promulgated Emergency Rules:

N 8 Relating to Advance Practice Nurse Prescribers Collaboration with Dentists       


The Board of Nursing recently updated Wisconsin Administrative Code Chapter N1, which will be effective on September 1, 2018. The new rule updated the requirements for the approval process for schools of nursing. The updates addressed curriculum and clinical experiences including simulations.


Effective May 4, 2018 the Board of Nursing promulgated Emergency Rules:
