Department of Safety and Professional Services Highlights Manufacturing Month

Secretary Dave Ross Visits Skyline Homes, Inc. in Lancaster

Madison, WI – Today, Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) Secretary Dave Ross visited Skyline Homes, Inc. in Lancaster where he met with employees, toured their manufacturing facility, and saw completed homes ready to be shipped.

“We are excited to be visiting Skyline Homes as part of Manufacturing Month,” said Secretary Ross. “The manufactured housing industry is one that DSPS oversees, and we are proud that a maker of manufactured homes is right here in Lancaster; continued proof that manufacturing is a leader in Wisconsin’s workforce.”

Skyline Homes opened their doors in Lancaster in 1971. Here, in their 123,000 sq. ft. facility, they manufacture approximately 500 homes every year thanks to their140 dedicated employees. These homes are then shipped to seven states throughout the upper mid-west (ND, SD, MN, IA, IL, MI, WI) and three Canadian Provinces (Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba). The Lancaster Division produces single-wide and sectional HUD code homes, state code Modular homes, Canadian code Modular homes, and Shore Park brand park models.

“We are very proud of our skilled workforce and the products we produce here at the Lancaster Division,” said Jay McDonald, Manager of Skyline Homes, Inc. in Lancaster. “By providing a full line of affordable housing and RV park models for the hard working folks here in Wisconsin, we truly live up to the Skyline slogan ‘Bringing America Home – Bringing America Fun’.”

Governor Walker proclaimed October as Manufacturing Month to acknowledge the manufacturing industry in Wisconsin, a pillar of Wisconsin’s economy.
