Responsible Opioid Prescribing Requirement: For the 2021 renewal, each license holder will be required to take two of the required 30 hours via Board-approved courses on responsible opioid prescription. Multiple courses may be combined that add up to two hours as long as they are all on the approved list. Physicians who do not hold a U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration number to prescribe controlled substances are exempted under the rules.

List of Board-Approved Courses

Providers who wish to put on a Board-approved course must submit an application to the Medical Examining Board based on the guidelines approved by the Board. Individual license holders should not submit applications for courses that they had previously taken.
