The Respiratory Care Practitioners Examining Council, as created under
Wis. Stat. § 15.407(1m), is affiliated with the Medical Examining Board and has authority as outlined in
Wis. Stat. ch. 448.
Members
The professional members of the Respiratory Care Providers Examining Council are appointed by the Medical Examining Board, and the public member is appointed by the Governor. The members of the Examining Council serve 3 year terms. The Board consists of 3 certified respiratory care practitioners, each of whom shall have engaged in respiratory care practice for at least 3 years preceding appointment; one physician; and one public member, who shall be appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Legislature.

*The Respiratory Care Practitioner and Physician Council members are appointed by the Medical Examining Board; these members may continue to serve until the Board takes formal action to appoint a successor regardless of term expiration.
