Twelve (12) credit hours of continuing education (CE) related to the clinical practice of dental therapy are required. The 12 credit hours of continuing education (CE) shall include not less than 2 credit hours of instruction in Infection Control.
CE courses must be sponsored or recognized by local, state, regional, national, or international dental, dental therapy, dental hygiene, dental assisting, or medical-related professional organization. College level courses or teaching or preparing a CE program may be substituted for CE hours if requirements under Wis. Stat. § 447.057 (4) or (5) are met.
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED) certification must be current to practice dental therapy.
NOTE: Continuing education requirements do not apply to the biennium in which a license is first issued.
