20 hours, including at least two (2) hours relating to ethics, offered through American Academy of Audiology (AAA), American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), Department of Public Instruction (DPI), International Hearing Society (IHS), National Board for Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences (NBC-HIS).
A CE course offered by a course provider other than AAA, ASHA, DPI, IHS or NBC-HIS is also acceptable, but the course must be approved by AAA, ASHA, DPI, IHS or NBC-HIS.
Graduate courses from an accredited university are acceptable if the courses directly relate to the Hearing Instrument Specialist profession.
All other CE course not meeting the requirements listed above must be submitted by the course provider to the Board for pre-approval; CE courses must be submitted 30 calendar days prior to the first date the CE program or course of study is offered.
