COVID-19 UPDATES & INFORMATION
The Department of Safety and Professional Services has remained in operation throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. At this time, however, the Hill Farms State Office Building and all DSPS walk-up counters remain closed to the public. Boards, councils, and committees continue to meet. The public may connect to these meetings remotely. To find instructions, visit the A-Z Boards & Councils list and click on the “Meetings Page" link corresponding to the meeting you wish to attend. Connection information will be available no less than 24 hours prior to the meeting.
Please check our
COVID Information page for information and communication about COVID-19 department operations and our response.
As of January 1, the 2% Fire Dues and Electrical programs are live in the Electronic Safety and Licensing Application (eSLA). Visit the Customer Information page for instructions on first-time login, and to view the full list of program areas in eSLA.

The mission of the
Department of Safety and Professional Services is to promote economic growth and stability while protecting the citizens of Wisconsin as designated by statute.
SCAM ALERT: Neither
the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services nor regulating or licensing boards (e.g. State Board of Nursing) will contact licensees by phone or fax requesting payment to clear or restore licenses. If you receive a call, email, fax or letter indicating that someone has stolen your license or that there are problems with your license that can be resolved with immediate payment, this could be a scam. Do not give out your personal,
confidential information to someone claiming to be from a government agency or board.
