The Dentistry Examining Board believes the citizens of Wisconsin need unrestricted access to dental services for public health and safety. We believe the dental profession is able to use their training, education, experience and expertise to determine the best course of care for our Wisconsin residents and our patients. Dentistry has always followed the highest level of infection control.
The Dentistry Examining Board is created in
Wis. Stat. § 15.405(6) and has authority as outlined in
Wis. Stat. ch. 447.
Members
The members of the Dentistry Examining Board are appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Legislature to serve 4-year terms. The Board consists of 6 licensed dentists, 3 licensed dental hygienists and 2 public members.

Dentist Continuing Education – New Requirement
Effective as of 10/1/2017, pursuant to DE 13.03 (1m), the 30 credit hours of continuing education shall include 2 hours in the topic of responsible prescribing of controlled substances for the treatment of acute dental pain. This first applies to the biennium ending in 2019.
