The Professional Counselor Section of the Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Counseling and Social Work Examining Board is created in
Wis. Stat. § 15.405(7c) and has authority as outlined in
Wis. Stat. ch. 457.
The members of the Professional Counselor Section are appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Legislature to serve 4-year terms. The Section consists of 3 Professional Counselor members, and 1 public member.

The Counseling Compact Commission has proposed text for Chapters 2, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 Rules. The proposed rule was posted on August 5, 2026, and public comment period will end on September 13, 2026, at 11:59pm MT. The proposed text of the rule may be found by visiting the link provided.
