​License Information

Per Wis. Stat. § 440.08 (2), the required renewal date for the Electrology Establishment credential is 03/31/odd years.  Should you receive your initial credential in the months leading up to this date, you are still required to renew your license by the statutorily defined date.

All establishments where electrology is practiced must be licensed as an electrology establishment. Establishments must also obtain a license before opening a new business, relocating an existing business, or a changing the ownership of the business.

A person who is not licensed under Wis. Stat. 454.06 by the cosmetology examining board may own or operate an establishment, but may not practice barbering, cosmetology, aesthetics, electrology, or manicuring. A person who owns an electrology establishment shall employ at least one person as a manager who holds an electrology license and manages the establishment on a full-time basis. The manager of an electrology establishment shall ensure that the establishment operates in compliance with Wisconsin statutes and rules promulgated by the examining board.
