​ Now Live for Trades Credentials and Renewals!

All initial, reinstatement, and renewal applications for a Trades credential must now be made through LicensE, your online, self-guided licensing platform.

  • To apply for a license or renew your license, go to license.wi.gov.
  • For those renewing in LicensE for the first time or looking for more information about LicensE, including exams, refer to the “Trades LicensE Information" document.
  • Please review the LicensE Applicant User Guide for help.

​​​​​​​​​Wisconsin Act 240 - Credentialing DACA Recipients​

DSPS is finalizing registration in the federal SAVE program. This is a necessary step to help our agency verify ​Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status as we implement legislation allowing eligible DACA recipients to obtain an occupational license in Wisconsin.

The SAVE program requires both DACA and employment authorization. DACA applicants should have their current Employment Authorization Document (EAD card) available to complete license application. ​

We are transitioning our forms to an online platform, AccessGov, that meets Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidance. You will be able to submit some forms directly within the platform, while some may require you to download as a PDF and upload to another system. AccessGov will launch at the end of June 2026. Note, you may also be automatically redirected from the form's previous PDF version to the new AccessGov version.​
