Go to the Customer Information page to learn more.

The Division of Industry Services offers an online web scheduler for plan reviews related to Commercial Buildings, Fire Suppression Systems, and Plumbing. Please find Plumbing information below, and visit the Commercial Buildings / Fire Suppression Systems Scheduler page for details.

Effective 03/01/17 we have upgraded to SharePoint 2013 for electronic submittals. Any plan reviews scheduled as of this date will be entered in to SharePoint 2013. Here is the link to the new SharePoint 2013 Submitter Instructions.

Scroll down for scheduling options.

Revisions should
not be entered into the Web Scheduler.

Revised paper plans and the appropriate application form should be sent to the office that did the original review along with either a check for the revision fee or a signed request from the designer authorizing to be invoiced.

Revised electronically submitted plans should have a completed application form (including the SharePoint user login ID name and the related transaction # being revised) e-mailed to dspssbplanschedule@wi.gov for an electronic review to be scheduled.

Both types of submittals will be scheduled with the original reviewer's first available appointment date.

Plumbing Plan Review Scheduling

Prior to submission to the Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS), check with the municipality of the project’s location, as there may be parallel plan review, complete plan review, or other municipal permit regulations. View the full list of Plumbing Delegated Municipalities.

Please choose from the options below based on what you would like to submit to the DSPS.

Public Building or Place of Employment

The plumbing plan review for a public building or place of employment is generally based on a minimum of 16 fixtures, which include water heaters, storm inlets, hose bibbs and floor drains, or relates to health care facilities, or specific installations as identified in SPS Tables 382.20-1 and -2. This may include additions or alterations. Interior and exterior building water distribution and sanitary drain and vent systems may be reviewed together or separately.

  • Petitions are not scheduled via the plumbing plan review scheduler (see Plumbing Code Petitions section below for more information).
  • Plan reviews of projects located in agent municipalities may be done by agent officials unless specified in SPS Table 382.20-1.
  • See the next available plan review dates in each Industry Services review office.

One- or Two-Family Dwelling

Unless otherwise required, Plan review for one- and two-family dwellings is not done by the Division of Industry Services. Uniform Dwelling Code plan review is done as part of the UDC permit process and takes place at the local level, per SPS 320.29 (SPS 320.29). Contact the municipality in which the one- or two-family dwelling is located.

Revision to a Previously Reviewed Plan

Submitters of revisions (see Definitions section below) to previously reviewed plans do not use the online scheduler for making plan review appointments. Those plan reviews can be sent directly to the office where the original review was done, using review application form SBD-6154. Be sure to include the regulated object numbers being revised.  Also, the form may be faxed to (877) 840-9172 or emailed to DspsSbPlanSchedule@wi.gov.

Plumbing Code Petition

Plumbing code petitions are not scheduled through the online scheduler. You may schedule a plumbing code petition by faxing a completed SBD-9890X form to (877) 840-9172 or emailing the form to DspsSbPlanSchedule@wi.gov.

Schedule Appointment for Review of Special Plumbing System

Appointments for reviews of these special plumbing systems are made using the plumbing plan review scheduler, regardless of what type of facility they are in: grease interceptors, garage catch basins, oil interceptors, car wash interceptors, sanitary dump stations, chemical systems.

It is best if the review is done at the time of the rest of a new, addition, or alteration plumbing system review. However, if the item is being installed by itself, the review may be scheduled by itself.

Schedule Appointment for Water Reuse System

Water Reuse Systems of varying types may have plan review appointments made using this scheduler, either as an individual review or as part of a larger plumbing system review.

An example of a water reuse system would be a device, or series of devices that collects previously-used water from a blackwater or graywater source and treats the water so it can be recycled for use within a plumbing system, rather than being discharged to drain.

Technical Code Question

To ask technical code questions, email DspsSbPlbgTech@wi.gov. If you feel it is necessary, contact the office of your choice to make an appointment to have a preliminary plan review discussion, for a fee, with a plumbing plan reviewer.

Cross Connection Control Assembly

Reviews may be scheduled for cross connection control assemblies in health care facilities (see Definitions section below).

Web Scheduler (Plumbing Plan Review)

Registration of assemblies in non-health care is done when the overall plumbing system plan is reviewed or is done online for a transaction fee. Or, the registration can be done by completing relevant information on review application form SBD-6154 and sending it to one of the Industry Services plan review offices for registration.
