Aesthetics Establishment

License Information

Per Wis. Stat. § 440.08(2), the required renewal date for the Aesthetics Establishment credential is March 31st of each odd-numbered year.  Should you receive your initial credential in the months leading up to this date, you are still required to renew your license by the statutorily defined date.

All establishments where aesthetics is practiced must be licensed as an aesthetics establishment. Establishments must also obtain a license before opening a new business, relocating an existing business, or a changing the ownership of the business.

A person who is not licensed under Wis. Stat. § 454.06 by the cosmetology examining board may own or operate an establishment, but may not practice barbering, cosmetology, aesthetics, electrology​, or manicuring. A person who owns an aesthetics establishment shall employ at least one person as a manager who holds an aesthetics license and manages the establishment on a full-time basis. The manager of an aesthetics establishment shall ensure that the establishment operates in compliance with Wisconsin statutes and rules promulgated by the examining board.
