What Wisconsin codes apply to medical gas piping?
Medical gas piping codes are enforced under NFPA 99 by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS). The vessels containing the gasses are regulated by SPS 341, Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.
Must new steam autoclaves be inspected by DSPS?
Except as provided in SPS 341.16(b), boilers and pressure vessels shall be inspected by a certified inspector before they are placed in operation. See SPS 341.16(a). Exemptions per SPS 341.18(1).
