Hearing and Speech Examining Board

The Hearing and Speech Examining Board is created under Wis. Stat. § 15.405(6m) and has authority as outlined in Wis. Stat. ch. 459.


Members

The members of the Hearing and Speech Examining Board are appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Legislature to serve 4-year terms. The Board consists of three hearing instrument specialist members, one otolaryngologist member, two audiologist members, two speech-language pathologist members, and two public members one of which is required to be a hearing aid user.

Proposed Amendment to the ASLP-IC Rule on Implementation of Criminal Background Check Requirement  

Purpose: ASLP-IC member states' implementation and utilization of procedures for considering the criminal history records of applicants for an initial privilege to practice is required by the model legislation.

The Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology Interstate Compact (ASLP-IC) Commission has scheduled a Special Commission Meeting on Monday, June 30, 2025 at 4 p.m., EDT.

At this meeting, the commission will review and vote on a proposed Fiscal Year 2026 Operating Budget for ASLP-IC, and review and vote on the proposed ASLP-IC Rule on Fees and a Proposed Amendment to the ASLP-IC Rule on Implementation of the Criminal Background Check Requirement. Details
