Delegated Agents for Commercial Electrical Permitting and Inspection
Review this list to determine if your municipality or county has authority to issue commercial electrical permits and inspections. If your municipality is not listed, use the Inspector Lookup Tool to determine the DSPS-appointed inspector for your county.
Wisconsin Administrative Code Section SPS 316.011(1).
Pursuant to Wis. Stat. sec.. 101.86 (1), municipalities may exercise jurisdiction over the inspection of electrical wiring installations at: farms; public buildings; places of employment; campgrounds; manufactured home communities; public marinas, piers, docks, and wharves; recreational vehicle parks; and vacant land or structures for which a permit under this chapter or ch. SPS 320 has not already been issued.
Counties: Counties with delegated authority have been authorized jurisdiction over the inspection of electrical wiring installations in municipalities which do not have their own delegated authority. Municipalities with “N/A” in the Inspection Agency No. column are within the jurisdiction of a delegated county.
